Team Brendon was 18 members strong in April 2010 at the 2nd Annual St. Jude Fun Run in Havelock, NC. They raised over $800 in memory of Brendon.

In June of 2009, The Child Development Center at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, TX planted a tree in memory of Brendon who was a student at the preschool. Those in attendance all wore orange and included kids from the CDC, teachers, staff and Air Force members. Brendon's mom Alison and stepfather Tony broke ground, and the kids helped to plant the tree, watering it to ensure it's strong and beautiful growth.
The staff donated a wooden plaque featuring Brendon's picture with the title "Forever Five" and engraved with the following: "Gone from us now, forever in our hearts". As you enter the CDC you can now see our angel Brendon's smiling face. He loved to attend school. It was where he could be himself and play with other children. The CDC was an important part of Brendon's life. Although he never attended kindergarten he was unofficially enrolled to a class and teacher at Dyess Elementary School.
Pictured here are Brendon's sister Amelia and girlfriend Ella as they water his tree. Pictured above, his mother and stepfather proudly hold Brendon's plaque as they sit next to the tree in his honor. They would like to thank Dyess Air Force Base, and Heather Crisco for making this a wonderful occasion.

Before starting the 2009 school year, Morgan decided to donate 12 inches of her hair to Locks in Love in memory of her cousin Brendon. Even though Brendon never needed this charity (he was the coolest bald kid around), Morgan wanted to give a little girl in Brendon's situation a chance to feel good about herself with a new head of hair.

In December of 2009 Alison led a team "Forever Five" at a Brain Tumor Walk in Dallas, TX. She was joined by her husband, daughter and the Goff family. "Forever Five" raised $1000 in memory of Brendon during this event.

On October 24th, 2008, The TCC Jazz Band and Capital City Concert Band performed it's annual fall concert at Turner Auditorium on the TCC campus in Tallahassee, FL. The concert was held in memory of Brendon, the beloved grandson of Gary and Becky Coates. Gary is the Director of the TCC Band Program. Although the concert was free, donations were accepted on behalf of The Brendon Scott Coates Foundation. That night, the concert raised $750 in Brendon's memory.

In April of 2009, Morgan Whitehead proudly raised $285 in memory of her dearly missed cousin Brendon for the 1st Annual St. Jude Fun Run in Havelock, NC. In 2010 she raised $440 and even made a small speech about Brendon
before the race began. She is already raising funds for 2011, and
plans to raise more money for St. Jude with each passing year.

During the summer of 2009, a small group of military wives delivered donations of much needed items and pop tabs to The Ronald McDonald House in Greenville, NC. Donations included laundry items, toiletries, children's books, snack foods and of course the 23,305 pop tabs that had been collected. Items were donated by people of the local community in eastern NC. While at The House, they recieved a tour of the facility and learned that the RMH of Greenville serves a large population of military families. As a result of this small effort, many officials at Marine Corps Cherry Point are now more involved with The House and together they are working on ways to better serve the military families that find themselves in need of the Ronald McDonald House.
